Dua for Studying and Tips – Learning is the process of gaining knowledge, either religion or the world. To facilitate learning, we are required to start with dua and say Basmallah. When facing exams, students are very active in studying so they can answer all the questions that will be given during the exam.
So, in this article, we share a dua for studying and tips for getting good grades on exams.
If you are a student, you must study hard and don’t forget to read the dua to study. Read on for this article to the end.
These tips for studying and achieving good grades gave me 90% success answering all the questions and this was decisive in my graduation. By study we mean this is a course for 8 semesters and it is very difficult to be able to excel in the top positions.
But, Alhamdulillah I was able to achieve the best pass from the exam that I took. I’m actually a student like you, but Alhamdulillah, I was able to get good marks on exams, I just always ask Allah for help to get the best out of the exams I’ve been through.
The dua is something that is very important for every Muslim to read it. Especially when entering the exam, it has become a must to read the study prayer and the Dua for the exam. Asking only Allah is a form of acknowledgment that we are weak in front of Allah, and Allah will surely help us.
Here, I will share with you some important dua in studying and taking exams.
1. Before you start studying, define your goals
You must be able to determine what your learning goals are. Remember, passing or getting a high score is not a success. However, success is what you have achieved with the knowledge you have while studying.
The purpose of our study is so that we can gain knowledge and with that knowledge we can provide benefits to fellow human beings. How much we can give to others, that’s how big our success is.
Mean: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge which does not benefit, from a heart that does not entertain the fear (of Allah), from a soul that is not satisfied and the supplication that is not answered.”
2. Prepare for your Task
When we prepare for study assignments, I always start by reading the Dua for Studying and don’t forget to start with the basmallah.
In a hadith, Rasulullah SAW said that every good thing from a religious point of view and does not start with basmallah, then the case is not a blessing.
3. Make a Timetable
Creating a study plan and schedule is very important in reaping success. You have to know what you have to do today, tomorrow and others. So make a study schedule and the schedule must be realistic and really possible for you to work on.
If you make a schedule for studying math, then work on that lesson. When you are dealing with religious lessons, then do it, try to be able to follow every schedule you have made. If you are successful in doing what you scheduled, then give your thumbs up and thank to Allah for the ability that has been given.
Tips: Best time and Place to Study
As mentioned by the author of the book “Al-Faqih al Muwaffiq”, Khatib al Baghdadi RA that the best time to study is at dawn, then noon. Overall, night is better than day.
further the author of the book mentions that the best place to study is your room which is above ground level, and there are no distractions. While studying, you may want to stay away from green places, or beautiful riverbanks as these can distract you.
You only need to focus on the knowledge you are studying, so avoid other places that can fool you.
Actions to Increase Memory Power
In addition to study time, a place to study, you also have to master tips and how to strengthen your memorization, how to strengthen your mind so that it is easy to remember lessons.
In history, Imam al-Bukhari was once asked, “What is the most beneficial for improving memory?” He replied, the important thing that can improve memory is your greed for knowledge and your persistence in learning. These are important tips for you to easily gain knowledge.
To improve memory and memorization, Imam Shafi’ie (rahimahullah) had prescribed the following four methods:
1) The use of a Miswak.
2) Sitting in the company of the ‘Ulama (Scholars).
3) Sitting in the company of the Pious.
4) Leave useless talk
Tips: Food from Sunnah to Increase Memory
There are foods that are recommended in Islam to be consumed in order to improve memory or memorization.
Prophet Muhammad SAW, advised us to include some of these foods in our daily diet. It is also scientifically proven that the recommended foods can improve memory.
Among the foods that are recommended to improve memory are honey, olive oil, pomegranate, figs, dates and grapes, and kolonji or black seeds.
4. Dua For Studying
The Dua is: Rabbi Zidni ‘Ilma War Zuqni Fahman
Rabbi Zidna ‘Ilman War Zuqni Fahman
“O my Lord, increase me in knowledge!”
Whenever you want to learn, then start with a dua and read first basmallah (Bismillahirrahmanirrahiim).
This is a powerful Dua to learn and also short and easy to memorize. This is what is mentioned in the Koran in Surah Taha, verse 114.
After that you read the Dua : Rabbishrah lee sadree Wayassir lee amree Wahlul ‘uqdatan min lisanee Yafqahoo qawlee
The meaning: “O my Sustainer! Open up my heart and make my task easy for me, and loosen the knot from my tongue so that they might fully understand my speech.” (Quran-20:25-28)
5. Hard Work
In addition to reading dua for studying, you also have to work hard or study hard to be successful and achieve your goals.
We don’t mean 24-hour learning, but you can learn by making better use of your time. For example, you study 3 hours a day, meaning you use 3 full hours to study and there is no play time in those 3 hours. While studying, focus and concentrate well on your studies.
The best time to study is in the evening before dawn or after Fajr and after Maghrib. During the graduation exam, I studied from 4 am to 9 am. So, no one saw me studying and they were surprised to see I was successful with good grades. Though, I have studied hard without other people’s knowledge.

6. Read a Short Dua Before studying and Before Exams
Before starting to study or before you start an exam at school, read the two duas: the dua before studying and dua before start the exam.
Here I want to give a prayer that can make it easier for you to remember lessons, keep your concentration and keep your memorization.
