So, overall you can save about 1 year. To be able to pass the DPT, on average it takes 4 years plus 3 years. If you are serious about physical therapy school, then this is something you should consider. If you don’t want to work as a physical therapist, then you don’t need to continue for DPT after graduating. So, DPT classes are only for those who do plan to become a licensed therapist.

Traditional DPT Program

Ok, first you study and complete your undergraduate studies. After completing your undergraduate degree for about 4 years, you then apply at the DPT for 3 years. For the regular DPT program, you will usually spend 30 months to 36 months.

So you spent 4 years earning a bachelor’s degree. Then you add another 3 years to be able to graduate in the DPT program. The DPT program is a special section that is taught about physical therapy, here you learn a lot about the skills of a physical therapist. Becoming a Therapist does take time, but it’s worth what you get and you have nothing to lose.

If you are an adult and want to become a physical therapist, is this possible. Sometimes you don’t want to go back to school because it will make you very old compared to other children. Well, think about this question. Will you still be old if you don’t go to school? If you go to school, are you the same age as when you don’t go to school? Of course you will answer “same”. Our age will be the same, if we spend it without studying, our age will still be the same as “if you spend it on school again”.

The point is, if you want to change and want to become a physical therapist, then you have to make sacrifices and try your best to be the best you can be. Don’t let your dreams be buried in your own age. But use your age to catch up, because age will still run out by itself, whether you use it for useful things or use it for useless things. Keep it in mind!
