Before we discuss how to make aloe vera gel, let’s take a look at what this gel is? Aloe vera gel is a gel found in aloe vera leaves. Aloe is a succulent plant that stores a lot of water in the form of a gel on each leaf.

This gel is great and useful for a variety of problems. If you are stung by an insect, burns, cuts or cuts a knife, the aloe vera gel has a cool effect so it can reduce skin burns, or cuts from cuts.

This article aims to discuss how to make your own aloe vera gel

Actually, on the market there are many types of products made from aloe vera, but most of them have been contaminated with additives such as dyes and others. So, if you know this information, you can make this gel yourself. Immediately, we see how.

How to Make Aloe Vera Gel

Here’s what you need

Aloe Vera can be easily made from the gel on the leaves of the aloe vera plant. Here are the ingredients you need to make aloe vera gel.

  • A knife or vegetable peeler
  • Aloe vera leaves
  • Small spoon
  • Using a blender
  • Airtight container for storage
  • Vitamin C powder

To make aloe vera gel, it’s best to only use one or two leaves as the leaves last for a week without preservatives. For longer storage, of course you have to save it in Freezser or freeze it.

Directions

If all the ingredients have been collected, making this gel is very easy and fast, it only takes about 30 minutes for you to be able to present this gel.

1. Prepare the aloe leaves

To use fresh leaves straight from the aloe vera plant, try cutting one outer leaf from the base of the aloe vera.

If you don’t have this plant in your home, you can also buy aloe vera leaves at a plant shop or plant nursery.

The aloe vera leaves are washed and let stand in the cup for 10 to 15 minutes. You will see yellow resin flowing from the leaves.

This resin contains latex which can irritate the skin, so this is important for removing latex.

If this resin is completely used up, now clean the remaining leaves and peel the skin of the leaves with a sharp knife or kitchen knife.

2. Make the gel

If the Aloe Vera leaves are already peeled, you will definitely see that the aloe vera gel is still natural.

Take this gel with a spoon and put it in the blender,

Immediately turn on the blender and blend all the gel until it becomes foamy.

Now, you can use aloe vera gel and it lasts only one week, if you want to keep it more than a week and have to add preservatives.

3. Add preservatives (optional)

Adding vitamin E and vitamin C is very good because it can function as a preservative to extend the life of the aloe vera gel that you make.

Gel naturally contains several vitamins, but this is not enough to preserve itself, you have to add vitamin C and vitamin E.

Both contain antioxidant and anti-aging properties, so the addition of this vitamin also adds to the gel’s function of increasing the skin’s protective power.

The level of Vitamin C added to Preserve Gel is 500 mg for every 1/4 (60 ml) cup of aloe vera gel. Or 400 International Units (IU) of powdered vitamin E – or you can add both.

You can do it fast, by adding vitamins to the blender.

Storage instructions

Natural gel without added preservatives can last in the refrigerator for a week, stored in an airtight container.

However, by adding vitamin C or both vitamins C and E, this can prolong the life of your gel. This preserved gel can last up to 2 months in the refrigerator.

How to use Aloe Vera Gel

If your skin has small sores, sunburn, skin irritation, then you can rub aloe vera gel directly on the infected area.

This gel is an excellent moisturizer for your hands, your face, and can provide anti-bacterial protection for minor wounds.

This gel also contains antioxidants that can remove without aging and eliminate skin damage caused by UV light stings. In general, this gel is used as a sunscreen or skin protector from the dangers of UV rays.

The content of vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin A can promote immunity and accelerate wound healing.

The bottom line

Aloe Vera gel is a natural ingredient that is useful for preventing skin damage from the bad effects of UV, accelerating wound healing. Gel that you make yourself from home is healthier and better to use.

Unlike the gel that is sold in the market, it may have been contaminated with additives so that it is no longer good for use on the skin.
