The Benefits of Last two Ayats of Surah al-Baqarah

At least, there are four virtues of reading the last two ayats of surah al-baqarah. This is based on the hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim. This hadith was taken from Ibn Mas’ud, he said that Rasulullah SAW said:

Meaning: Whoever reads the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah one night, these two verses are sufficient.

A great scholar named Sheikh al-Munawi, he explained in Faidhul Qadir the meaning of the Prophet’s hadith about the advantages of reading the last verse of al-Baqarah.

First:

If someone reads the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah at night, then it represents the reading of the Koran from other letters. Reading the verse can be done in prayer or outside of prayer, this is the same as that he has read the Koran as recommended.

Second:

Anyone who reads the last two ayats of surah al-Baqarah, he will have his faith strengthened on that day. That is why we are encouraged to read it every day or night.

Third:

Whoever reads the last two verses of surah al-Baqarah, then he will be protected from all forms of evil, be it human evil, demons, jinn, and will be safe from all forms of harm.

Fourth:

The fourth virtue for those who read the last ayat of al-Baqarah is that they are given a sufficient life with the goodness of the world and the hereafter (akhirat).

Last ayat al Baqarah

Translation for 2:285

“The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.”

Transliteration for 2:286

“Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. “Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.”
