Names of Angels of God

Names of Angels of God – Angels are creatures of Allah who obey Him and never commit the slightest immorality because they are not created by lust like humans. The number of angels is very large and infinite, but there are ten angels that we know and know their duties. There are 10 angels that must be known and memorized, just like the 25 Prophets 25, which must be known too.

Because knowing the names of angels of God is an obligation for Muslims, we make a review in this article. Hopefully it is useful and becomes material for us to memorize and introduce to early childhood so that they memorize it.

Names of Angels of God and Duties

Angels or in Arabic script are called (ملاءكة) are Allah’s creatures made of “nur” or light that always obey Allah in various commands of Allah.

For Muslims, mukallaf are obliged to recognize 10 angels and sin if they do not know and are obliged to believe in them. Faith in angels is one of the six pillars of faith in Islam.

Angels are innocent creatures and always obey Allah because they are created from light without any lust accompanying them. As we know, lust is the cause of man falling into sin.

However, that does not mean that Allah does not glorify humans, but Allah greatly honors humans because Allah does not only place lust but also provides “reason/intellect” as a balance.

So, when humans can control their desires, they will become the most noble creatures, even more noble than angels, because humans have “intellect”.

Meanwhile, if man cannot control his lust, then he is more vicious than animals because animals have no sense, while humans have “intellect” but do not use it.

Therefore, we can understand that Allah prefers human worship to angels because humans are filled with lust but are still able to worship. Angels are naturally able to worship because they do not have lust and were not created with lust.

In surah alfathir verse 1, it is explained about the nature of angels who have four wings.

“Praise be to Allah the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who made angels as messengers (to take care of various affairs) who have wings, two, three and four respectively”.

Allah adds to His creation what He wills. Verily Allah has power over all things. ”

Not only that, the verse of Allah shows about angels but there are many more, as well as the hadith of the Prophet SAW. which states about the nature of angels, and one of the hadiths that mentions the nature of angels is:

“Archangel Jibril, has 600 wings, Israfil has 1200 wings, where one wing equals 600 wings of Jibril and the last one is said that Hamalat al-‘Arsy (angel of arash) has 2400 wings where one wing equals 1200 wings of Israfil.”

Indeed, angels cannot be seen, but Muslims are obliged to believe in the existence of angels and their respective duties because they are manifest, meaning that if Allah opens the veil, we can really see the angel.

Before we look at the names of angels and their respective duties, let’s first look at the conditions that angels must have.

The Attributes of Angels

  • As beings who are not equipped with lust, of course angels never deny or violate Allah’s orders in the slightest, here we see the nature of angels as in the Koran.
  • Angels never disobey God’s commands, always obey.
  • Do not do anything that is prohibited by Allah
  • Angels always worship Allah as prayer, prostrate, or whatever the order is.
  • Angels are not proud, proud, at all because they are free from lust
  • The Angels always beg forgiveness from believing humans
  • Angels feel happy when there are believers who succeed in performing worship and succeed in keeping immorality away.
  • Angels can change shape to become humans, or other things according to what they want.

Names of Angels of God (Allah) and Duties

The number of angels is very large and absolutely no one knows except Allah alone, because this is not mentioned in the Koran and the hadiths. However, the angels that we must know are 10 angels with their respective duties.

Immediately, we will see the name of the angel and his task below.

1. Jibril

The angel Jibril is in charge of conveying revelations to the Prophet and is also in charge of blowing the spirit into each fetus in the womb when it reaches a certain period.

2. Michael

Angel Mikail is an angel who is assigned by Allah to distribute sustenance to humans and regulate rain, wind and plants.

3. Israfil

The angel Israfil was assigned to blow suspicions as a sign that the end had arrived. When the thought is blown, all those who have died from the time of the prophet Adam to the end of time will live again like mushrooms that grow in the rainy season, all of them will rise from their graves.

4. Izrail

Furthermore, the name of angels of God is the angel Izrail. His job is to take the lives of all creatures when they have reached their death.

Including the angel Izrail took his own life after the lives of all creatures had been removed. So there is nothing that does not die except Allah’s substance alone. This is what Allah calls obligatory baqa ‘(eternal immortality).

5. Munkar

This is one of the angels who is assigned to ask humans in the grave about their evil deeds while on earth. It comes in a frightening shape and carries a sledgehammer in its hand as a means of hitting people unable to answer.

If the question cannot be answered, then he will beat the person in the grave until it is destroyed and then return it again, and beaten again until the Day of Resurrection.

6. Nakir

Angel Nakir is an angel who asks good deeds in the grave. He comes in a handsome, beautiful and exhilarating form.

7. Raqib

An angel who is assigned to record good human deeds while on earth

8. Atid

An angel who is assigned to record the bad deeds of humans during the world

9. Malik Zabaniah

Commissioned to guard the gates of hell, his shape and stature were terrifying.

10.  Malik Rizwan

The angels who were assigned to guard the door of heaven were very good, handsome and pleasant.

Those are the ten names of angels og God and their duties, hopefully we can memorize them and teach them to our children.
