How to Perform Wudu

How to perform wudu – Wudu is a way to eliminate the hadas so that someone becomes holy and can do prayer. So, wudu is an obligation that must be done when someone wants to do prayer. Whatever prayer is done, whether prayer is sunnat or obligatory prayer, ablution or wudu is a must.

In perform wudu, a Muslim must do 6 points. These six points are fardhu or pillars of wudu. Now, we look at these six points. The explanation of the procedure for doing this ablution is based on the Imam Syafie school of thought.

  • Six Wudu Obligatory that Must to Known
    • 1. Intention (niyyah) to eliminate hadast
    • 2. Washing the face
    • 3. Wash Two hands
    • 4. Sweep or clean some hair
    • 5. Wash both feet to ankles
    • 6. Orderly
    • Sunnat wudu
    • الحمد لله الذى جعل الماء طهورا

Six Wudu Obligatory that Must to Known

1. Intention (niyyah) to eliminate hadast

Niyyat is something that is present in the heart, when we wash the face, then in our hearts must havr an intention to eliminate the hadas. Example: I eliminate the hadas on all members of wudu, or I remove the hadas law and others. Can also intend to perform fardhu wudu.

The niyyah of wudu must be accompanied or together when washing your face. It is also permissible for someone to intend when washing every part of the fard wudu.

Also see: Dua Before Sleep

2. Washing the face

Washing the face on perform wudu

How to perform wudu is by washing the face. The face is for the front of the head and starts from the habit of growing hair on the top and chin on the bottom. The widening of the face is between two ears, right and left.

Must wash all the hairs that grow within the boundary of the face. But if the beard is thick (no skin appears when facing each other) then it is not obligatory to enter the lower part of the skin, it is only required to wash the outside.

3. Wash Two hands

Wash Two hands on perform wudu

Wash both hands from the palm of the hand up to two elbows. If someone’s hand is broken, then he is obliged to wash what is left if it is within the limit of wudu. If a person is chopped off by the elbow, he must also wash the tip of the elbow.

4. Sweep or clean some hair

Sweep some hair when wudu

Sweep the hair off the head restriction. For someone who has no hair, then he is sufficient to just sweep some of his head.

If the hair is long and out of the boundary of the head, then it is not permissible to only sweep the hair that is outside the head limit.

5. Wash both feet to ankles

The next fard of wudu is washing both feet to both ankles.

6. Orderly

Memorize the order – Orderly is organized, which is first done first and continued with the next.

Washing parts of the body in wudu should not be coated with things that can prevent water on the skin. Our skin should not be exposed to sap, wax or other things that prevent water on the skin.

Those six points are the rukun (fard) wudu, something that must be done when doing wudu. If one of them is not done then wudu is invalid, and the prayers that are done are also invalid.

In addition to fard wudu, there are also things that are sunnat or recommended to be done. What are they?

Sunnat wudu

– Read bismillah when you want wudu

– Read the dua before wudu

الحمد لله الذى جعل الماء طهورا

“Praise be to Allah for making this water a purification tool”

– Wash both palms

– Gargling (putting water into the mouth and turning it)

– Put water in the nose, and remove it

– Wash the two ears, the outside and the inside

– Do three times on each part that is washed and swept, either on the sunnat wudu or the wudu obligatory.

This is the way on how to perform wudu, hopefully it be useful and increase our knowledge of the procedure for worshiping to Allah.
