Pillars of Faith – Islam is a religion that is complete with everything, including the way of life in this world. People who embrace Islam must completely surrender themselves to Allah (the One God), meaning that they must accept all the rules of Allah. The rules of life are contained in the holy book of the Islamic Ummah, namely the Koran and hadith (words, confessions, and provisions of the Prophet Muhammad).
In Allah’s rule, this human being is commanded by various Commands (amr) and prohibited by various bad things (nahy). When someone does all that, he is said to have followed the rules of Religion and that is how a human being should live in this world, so that in the hereafter he will be rewarded with incomparable pleasures (heaven).
Here we talk about the pillars of faith. A person who is Muslim, he is obliged to carry out the pillars of faith which consist of 6 pillars. Running the pillars of faith is a form of surrender to God Almighty (Allah).
There are six Pillars of Faith, these are:
1. Believe that only Allah is truly God
Believe that only Allah is truly God and besides Allah is not God, but creatures. Believing that Allah is One (there is no partner for Him), God is the Creator of All, the Preserver, and the sovereign lawgiver in the Universe.
2. Believe in Allah’s angels
Believing in God’s angels, they are God’s agents who carry out all Divine commands. Angels are creatures who are equipped with reason but not equipped with lust so that none of them disobeys Allah. Angels are creatures who obey God. All the angels are given their respective duties by Allah SWT.
3. Believe in the Holy Books
Believing in the holy books here is not only the Koran but also all the holy books that have been revealed to the Messengers of Allah before the Prophet Muhammad.

All the holy books that were revealed to the Prophet are true, but the most complete is the holy book of the Koran which was revealed to the last prophet, the Prophet Muhammad SAW. All the rules that exist in the previous book, are in the Koran and this holy book is a complement to all the rules or we are holy before.

4. Believe in Allah’s Messengers
Believe in all the messengers of Allah, there are quite a number of them, but what is obligatory for Muslims to know is that there are 25 Apostles. Starting from the prophet Adam to the last prophet; Prophet Muhammad SAW.
In the Qur’an Allah says “There never was a people to whom a prophet was not sent.” (Holy Qur’an).
5. Believe in the Day of Judgment
One of the pillars of faith is to believe in the Last Day or the Day of Judgment. Judgment Day is the last day of life in this world, then Allah destroys this universe. This signifies that humans are moving to a phase of life in the afterlife.
For Muslims it is obligatory to believe in the Day of Judgment because this is enshrined in the Qur’an and the hadith of the Prophet SAW. So, all these six pillars are obligatory to believe in order for a person to be legitimately said to be a believer.
6. Believe in the Divine Pre-Ordainment.
This is belief in Qadha and Qadar, this is also called Allah’s decree for his creatures that has existed since Azali (the term for time that has no beginning).
All provisions for creatures have been written down from the beginning, and this is called Qadha. When this happens one by one to creatures, it is called Qadar. We must believe that everything is from God.
Those are the 6 pillars of a Muslim’s faith. Without believing this well, then a person has not been said to be a Mukmin (believer).
