“And spend (your belongings) in the way of Allah, and do not throw yourself into destruction, and do good, for verily Allah loves those who do good.” Al Baqarah 195.

Regarding the advantages and virtues of this day of Ashura, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said, “Whoever rubs his hand on the head of an orphan on the day of ‘Ashura (i.e. 10 Muharram), Allah will raise his degree, with each hair wiped one degree.”
