Wisdom Teeth Removal Anesthesia

Pulling teeth sounds really scary. Everyone including myself felt scared when I extracted my wisdom tooth because of the pain I felt. but now you don’t need to be afraid if you choose the wisdom tooth extraction model with anesthetic options, this is a part of dentistry that uses sedatives so you don’t feel anything during the tooth extraction procedure.

So, if your purple tooth is not growing properly or is decaying, you should remove it so that your mouth is cleaner and is good for oral health.

About Sedation Dentistry

Sedating dentists are those that use sedatives in treating dental patients, including in dental extraction or surgery procedures. They use a sedative in order to get rid of the anxiety and fear that the patient is facing. If you pull a tooth through sedation dentistry you can relax while extracting the tooth.

The worry of most people and the fear of pulling out wisdom teeth will go away. It really makes you feel less in surgery. As soon as you sit in the patient’s chair, your teeth have been removed. This is something that is of great interest to many people, especially those who are afraid of tooth extraction procedures.

Removing Wisdom Teeth under Local Anesthetic

Wisdom teeth are the teeth at the back of the mouth and they often suffer from miscarriage. Generally people have wisdom teeth that do not grow well, even Berks Oral Surgery says nine out of ten people have wisdom teeth that are not normal, sometimes they hit the gums or others. Removing teeth with local anesthesia is usually quick and painless. In a moment your teeth are out of place.

However, this is sometimes different from wisdom teeth, even though you have used local anesthetic sedatives, sometimes it still can’t be done properly. Thus, in many cases wisdom tooth extraction requires using some type of sedative during the extraction procedure.

Moreover, when removal of wisdom teeth, it is usually necessary to operate both teeth at once. This is not as easy as we think. For some patients, bone removal in the gums is required for successful wisdom tooth extraction. That is why dentists have to use several types of sedatives to make the procedure painless for the patient. So that patients with functional teeth do not worry and fear when extracting teeth.

Using a Sedative or Anesthetic

Before you go for the purple tooth extraction procedure you should consult your dentist about which one is better. Do you use anesthesia or other drugs to provide calm during the extraction procedure. You and your doctor will also need to talk about the complexity of the procedure and the level of anxiety.

Before undergoing surgery, you can determine what sedative is best for you according to how it works and the effects that occur. Consider using drugs commonly used in tooth extraction.

1. Local anesthesia

It is a numbing or numbing medication. It is injected into the area of the tooth to be extracted. The way it works is to block the nerves so they can’t send pain signals to the brain.

2. Conscious sedation

This drug is given to patients before undergoing surgery by taking it orally along with anti-anxiety drugs. This drug works by sending a numb signal to the brain, so that you are drowsy during the procedure for your purple tooth extraction. If you are using this medicine, you must have friends or family accompany you because you will fall asleep and become unconscious.

3. Nitrous oxide or “laughing gas”

This is another drug commonly used for wisdom tooth extraction. This drug is a controlled mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen. The way it works is by using it on a mask and you inhale it. After inhaling this gas, you will feel relaxed, not nervous so that the operating procedure runs smoothly. The effect of this gas does not last too long, you can go home safely after the tooth extraction process because the effect of the drug is gone. However, giving oral drugs at the same time as this gas drug, makes you have to be careful when walking home. You should not drive alone because you are afraid you will be sleepy.

4. General anesthesia.

This anesthesia is different from local anesthesia which does not eliminate your awareness. General anesthesia is a combination of an oral drug, and an IV drug so that it brings you to a level of unconsciousness. So, this drug can make you completely unconscious. This you should know especially if you want to use this medicine during a tooth extraction procedure. When you wake up, you don’t remember anything that happened, including the procedure for your wisdom tooth extraction.

5. Intravenous (IV) sedation

This IV sedation works very quickly. It is administered by mouth and through a vein. Indeed, this drug does not get rid of your consciousness. But it can make you not remember many things. You can visually capture what the dentist is doing, but you won’t remember much. So, if you are using this medicine during a tooth extraction procedure, remember to take someone as your friend, as you will need a ride home (for your safety).

Safety of Wisdom Teeth Removal Anesthesia

As long as you stay in the hospital for the tooth extraction process, now you don’t need to worry because the dental treatment and care system is increasingly sophisticated. Oral surgeons are highly trained in the procedures for administering anesthesia and they are even trained in airway management. So that it can reduce the risk of complications. Through the airway they can make an intravenous line so that the possibility of complications after the tooth extraction procedure is very small or even non-existent.

From now on, you no longer need to delay your tooth extraction because oral surgeons are very skilled. You don’t need to worry and worry during the operation process, the surgeons are very well trained and know very well what to do with sedatives or local and general anesthetics. So whatever treatment options you take, you no longer need to worry and fear, immediately extracting your wisdom teeth for better oral hygiene and oral health if the wisdom teeth are damaged or grow abnormally.
