اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ كَمَا حَشَّنْتَ خَلْقِيْ فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِىْ

In latin language: Alhamdulillahi kamaa hassanta kholqii fahassin khuluqii

1. Hadith, Narrated by AL THABRANI in Ausath

Most of the prayers for the mirror are sourced from the hadith of the Prophet SAW, this hadith is narrated by the companions and then they teach to the ummah after him until now. One of these hadiths is a hadith narrated by Al Thabrani in Ausath, where Anas bin Malik RA. said that if the Prophet SAW wanted to mirroring then he recited the following prayer:

الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي سَوَّى خَلْقِى فَعَدَّلْهُ , وَصَوَّرَ صُوْرَةَوَجْهِى فَحَسَّنَهَا ,وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

Meaning: “Praise be to Allah who perfected my creation and beautified it, shaped my face and beautified it and has made me a Muslim.

2. Hadith Narrated by Baihaqi and Ibn Hibban

الَّلهُمَّ حَسَّنْتَ خَلّقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي

Meaning: “O Allah, (as) You improve my appearance, also improve my morals.”

Meaning: Among the sunnat (reading du’a) when looking at the mirror, namely the mirror that reflects the image (shape) because of the Prophet SAW. there is a prophet doing that. And it is sunken to read what has been mentioned in the hadith, namely: O Allah, as you have made my physical appearance good, my morals will be good.

قد صحّ عنه انه صلي الله عليه وسلم كان يدهو هذا الدعاء ولكن لم يشبت عنه تقييده بالنظر في المراة , وسُئل عنه ابن رشد فانكر علي من استنكر الدعاء به لعموم احاد يث طلب الد عاء .

There has been an authentic history that the Prophet SAW recited the prayer, but it was not mentioned by the special from prophet to recite the dua when looking in the mirror. And Ibn Rusyd was asked about the problem of this mirrored prayer, he denied it to people who thought there was no such prayer because the hadith of the Prophet SAW has clearly been a meditative prayer and is required to recite a meditative prayer.

4. Quranic Verses About Mirrors
