What Is the Smallest Thing in the Universe?

The question of what is the smallest object in the universe has been asked for a long time and it continues to grow until now along with the development of human science. People used to think that the grains of sand in the building blocks were the smallest objects in nature.

But then discovered the atom, the atom is considered as the smallest object and it can not be shared anymore. But who would have thought that atoms were later known as objects that can be split and consist of protons, neutrons and electrons.

Furthermore, the journey of science also discovered the smallest thing again where protons and neutrons can still be split and each consists of three quarks.

Scientists say that until now they have not been able to find or reveal anything in quarks. So, what is the smallest object or will there be more division of the quark.

So, if only until here, namely electrons and quarks can not be divided again, whether electrons and quarks are the smallest objects in this universe. Are there more objects that are much smaller than quarks and electrons?

Strings or points?

In experiments, the smallest particle, either an electron or a quark, acts as a single point of matter because it cannot be split or divided. Such a single object is said to complicate the laws of physics. Because you can approach the point infinity, and the force on it becomes quite large. Scientists feel bad about infinity.

There is an idea called superstring theory. It is stated that this theory can answer this problem. In this theory it is stated that all particles are not like dots but small loops of strings. However, so far physicists have no evidence to say that the superstring theory is correct.

Another way to answer this problem is to say that all spaces are not continuous and smooth. But it is made of discrete pixels or grains which is sometimes also called spacetime foam.

So two particles will not be close together without space separating them, this is the minimum space between the two particles. For more article, please refer to smallest thing in this universe
