INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJI'UN

As a Muslim we often say the sentence istirja “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun” when we hear that something unfortunate has happened, including when we hear about death.

If a Muslim dies, the obligation to a Muslim is to take care of his body, namely to bathe him, to cover him, to cover him and to bury him. However, the recitation of Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun is a suggestion in Islam which implies remembering Allah. Everything belongs to Allah and we will all return to Allah.

Allah says in Al-Quran surah Al Baqarah Verse 156.

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

“(That is) people who when a disaster strikes, they say,” Inna Lillaahi wa innaa ilaihi raajiuun. ” (Surah Al-Baqarah verse 56)”.

Use of the Sentence Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun

We need to know that saying this sentence istirja ‘is not only when hearing information about death, because calamity does not only take the form of death, but many other forms. We must straighten this out so that we know when the sentence istirja ‘was pronounced.

So, it’s not just limited to hearing death information. However, all calamities that occur either to ourselves or to others must be accompanied by words of istirja ‘.

Likewise, if you have an accident, say Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun. Likewise, when you lose valuable things, when you hear about sick people, when you hear something unpleasant happened to someone else.

All forms of calamity that befell us, our families, our brothers, it is better for all of us to say the sentence istirja ‘: Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun.

Remove the burden on the heart

The burden that arises in the heart because you are receiving a disaster feels light. We know that we belong to Allah and all will return to Allah. If this has been embedded in our hearts, then the burden on our hearts will be light and even disappear.

Increase a sense of sincerity and trust

when a disaster we already believe that it happened with the will of God. When everything is returned to Allah, there is no mind in the heart. We will definitely be sincere and accept everything that happens.

Be patient in facing tests
