How to Cook Italian Sausage in Air Fryer

Line the air fryer basket with baking paper, this will make it easier for you to clean the appliance and can also reduce smoke.

Using parchment paper is also a tip for using an air fryer to cook chicken wings. Don’t poke holes in the sausage. We have provided the recipe for you at the end of the article.

Step 1 – Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper

This is so that the paper absorbs oil and this will reduce the release of smoke when frying. Apart from that, the benefit of using baking paper is that it makes cleaning easier.

Step 2 – Preheat the air fryer

Preheat the air fryer at 360 degrees, this is important to preheat the fryer. If you fry it in a frying pan that is ready, it will add crispiness to the outside of the sausage.

Step 3 – Place the sausages in the air fryer

Put the sausages in the air fryer in one layer, and leave a little space in between, don’t make the sausages stick together. Close the air fryer and set your cooking time for 20 minutes.

Step 4 – Saute Peppers and Onions

Here we only fry sausages, but we make it more perfect by adding onions and peppers. Saute the onions and peppers and add to the sausage to add flavor.

The way to prepare it is to sauté the sliced onions and peppers. Saute with a spoonful of olive oil, saute for about 15 minutes over medium heat. Don’t overheat because the fire point of olive oil is not high.

Step 5 – Flip the sausages to finish cooking

After cooking for 15 minutes, open the air fryer and turn the sausages over. Your sausages should be almost done. After flipping each sausage in the air fryer, cook for just 5 more minutes. They will mature within that time.
