KH Achmad Chalwani in his book “Risalah Do’a & Shalawat“, he explained and gave a dua to prevent sleepiness, which was taken from Al-‘Arif Billah KH Nahrowi Dalhar (1870-1959) Watucongol, Muntilan, Magelang. We will share here a dua for prevent sleepiness.
This is a dua from the Koran, namely surah baqarah verse 255 which is known as ayatul kursi, so this prayer to prevent sleepiness is part of ayatul Kursi.
لَا تَأْخُذُهٗ سِنَةٌ وَّلَا نَوْمٌۗ
Transliteration: Lā ta’khudzuḥū sinatuw walā naūm
Translation: “God is not sleepy and does not sleep.” (Achmad Chalwani, Minutes of Prayer & Shalawat, [Purworejo, KESAPP: 2021] VIII edition, page 33).
In the book it is explained how to read it, where to prevent sleep we read the verse 7 times after the fardh prayer or after the five daily prayers.
Thus the dua for prevent sleepiness which was taken from KH Achmad Chalwani and he took permission (diploma) from KH Al-‘Arif Billah KH Nahrowi Dalhar Watucongol Magelang, Indonesia.
