How to Measure Your Ring Size – Measuring what your ring size is is an important business so you can get a ring that fits on your finger. Several ways to measure ring size are the essence of this article. We cover the ring measurement method to provide a solution to many ring buyers who after buying they just keep it at home because the size does not fit their finger.

To get a ring that fits your finger, you have to measure your finger first and then look for a ring of the same size. If you order a ring online, then you must also provide your correct ring size. It’s different if you buy offline, or come to a ringsmith, you can ask them to measure directly. But this is not possible when you buy online and of course you have to know the ring size from home.

So here we will explain how to measure your ring at home. Let’s see the review.

1. Fits your finger

Having a ring must be according to the size of the finger so that wearing it feels comfortable. According to Catbird New York City, a jewelry store in Brooklyn, he says “your ring should fit snugly against your finger, and it should be snug, so it doesn’t fall off, but also loose enough that you can slide it off easily when you make it out of your finger.”

2. Ring Size Guide

American ring sizes follow a number scale. Usually the size is 3 to 13.5 for adults. Women’s rings are usually between 3 and 9 in size, while men’s rings are between 8 and 14. That is the number that corresponds to the width of the finger in millimeters. The size of love with the number 3 is suitable for the ring finger, or any other finger with a width of 14 millimeters.

The average women’s ring size is 5 to 7, but don’t stick to this size because our goal is to have the right ring size for ourselves. Especially if you buy an engagement ring, you can imagine if the size does not match your partner’s finger.

3. Best Practices for Finding Your Size

To find out the right ring size and fit, you must measure your finger size. But before doing that, there are a few things you should know, these are:

– Consider your knuckle

If you know your finger size is half the size, then order a ring that is larger than your fingertip (your finger size). This is so that you can slide your ring properly.

– Ensure measurement accuracy.

You will have to try several times to find the right size. The catbird website recommends that you measure your finger 3 to 4 times at different times, this is because finger size fluctuates with different temperatures. If the body temperature is cold it can usually be smaller in size and can get bigger or swell when the temperature is warmer.

4. Measurement Methods

To measure your ring size, we found 3 easy methods to measure your ring at home. With the right measurements you can get the right ring size and comfortable when you wear it.

Option 1: Use string or thread to measure fingers

Use string or thread to measure fingers

  • Take a piece of string or string and wrap it around the base of your finger
  • Mark where the string or thread first overlaps the finger
  • Then straighten the thread or stretch it over a ruler or measuring tape and lower the length in millimeters.
  • See the standard ring size chart below and compare it to the ring size you would measure on your finger. Standard ring sizes go up 0.4 mm for every half measure. For example, a ring of size 3 is 14 mm, a ring of size 3.5 is 14.4 mm. If the size is 4, then this is 14.8 mm.

The most common ring sizes for women are 6 (16.5 mm), 6.5 (16.9 mm), and 7 (17.3 mm). While the most common ring sizes for men are 10 (19.8 mm), 10.5 (20.2 mm), and 11 (20.6 mm).

Pro Tip: Remember, the rope or thread you are measuring can stretch, so don’t pull it too hard. This is to prevent you from making the ring larger than its actual size.

Option 2: Place a ring you already own on a ring size chart

Find the ring that suits you!

Print out an actual ring size chart. Place your ring on top of the existing circle until you find a ring whose size matches the circle (picture of the circle) provided in the original chart.

Option 3: Buy your own ring sizer

Buy your own ring sizer

There is an easier way to measure your ring at home. This is to buy your own ring measurer, online there are lots of options and they are not expensive either.
