Miracles of Prophet Muhammad

This time we will discuss about the Miracles of Prophet Muhammad. As Muslims we believe that Allah SWT. sent apostles throughout the history of human life since humans first inhabited the earth. The purpose of Allah in sending his apostles is to provide guidance to humans on how to worship and live a true life in accordance with God’s rules on this earth. The Muslim community believes that every apostle who was sent was equipped with his own miracle as proof that he was truly an apostle from Allah. This is one of the functions of miracles, so that people know that he is truly a prophet and apostle sent by God. So, then humans follow his teachings. This messenger who was sent will provide news about the past, or the future, such as signs of doomsday, resurrection events in the Mahsyar field and others.

The prophets and apostles who were sent were all equipped with high morals and honesty so that they became extraordinary examples in human life. In fact, before they were adopted as apostles, they had shown extraordinary signs. So, when they say something that cannot be seen or unseen, it must be believed because it comes from the words of an honest person who never lies even though. Not only that honesty thing that God gave them, but God gave them miracles to remove doubts that they are God’s messengers who must be followed. This miracle is something extraordinary that could not have happened without the intervention of God, and this is mentioned a lot in the Koran. One of the examples of the miracle of the Prophet earlier was splitting the sea. This is a miracle of the prophet Moses that was given by God so that he and his people could be free from the pursuit of King Pharaoh. And in this article we will discuss about the miracles of prophet Muhammad PBUH.

This miracle is pure power of Allah which was given to His Messenger and there is no human intervention or miracle is something that violates custom and cannot be learned as magic (magic can be learned). Allah mentions this several times in the Koran as the prophet Isa told his people: “… I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I will make the shape of a bird for you out of clay, then breathe into it. and, with God’s permission, it will become a real bird; I will heal the blind and the leper, and bring the dead back to life with God’s permission… ”(Quran 3:49).

The Miracles of Prophet Muhammad PBUH

The last messenger, Muhammad SAW, was also given several miracles by Allah as proof that he was a true Messenger of Allah. Among the miracles of the Prophet Muhammad are as follows:

1. Splitting the Moon

One of the miracles of prophet Muhammad was splitting the moon, this was an extraordinary incident for him when the Meccans challenged him to prove his prophethood. Then Allah inspired him to designate the moon, and then the month split into two parts which are separated from each other. The moon is divided into two parts and this lasts for some time, before then the moon reunites.

At that time, the disbelievers could not believe what they saw and they said it was magic. This incident is actually proof that the prophet Muhammad PBUH was indeed an Apostle sent by God to convey the truth to humans and matters relating to the future after this universe was destroyed.

2. Isra and Mi’raj

Isra is the journey taken by the Prophet Muhammad with the Angel Jibril from Makkah to Yarussalem at night. This incident was a little before Rasulullah SAW moved to Medina. It was a miraculous journey because it was impossible for humans to travel that far in just a short time. Then from Jerusalem the prophet Muhammad SAW made another journey to Sidratul Muntaha, namely to the highest sky. The purpose of this trip is to face Allah in order to receive the orders of prayer. This trip only took a while because he was traveling with the angel Gabriel using a vehicle called “Buraq”.

when they returned to earth, and told this incident to their people, many Makkah people laughed and did not believe what happened to the prophet Muhammad. But when this news was presented to Abu Bakr, he immediately confirmed the incident, if it happened to the prophet Muhammad. That is why Abu Bakr was called “ash-Siddiq”. when asked this news by people who mocked the prophet Muhammad, Ashes immediately answered:

“If he says so, then it must be true. And where is the wonder of it? He tells me revelations come to him from Heaven to earth in one hour of day or night, and I know him to be speaking the truth.”

Everything that the prophet Muhammad went through on his way was mentioned and told, and all of that is true as it is. This shows that this journey is true. So, the journey of isra and mi’raj is not a fake event, but an extraordinary spiritual incident that actually happened to the Prophet Muhammad (not in a dream).

3. Food

Once upon a time one of the companions invited Rasulullah SAW and several other companions to eat with a little food which could suffice only for a small group. Prophet Muhammad accepted the invitation and invited many friends to eat together until the host felt anxious.

However, the prophet Muhammad personally served all the food himself until they were full. but miraculously, until finally all the trays were still full of food. This is truly an extraordinary event and is one of the miracles of the prophet Muhammad SAW.

3. Water

The next miracle of prophet Muhammad was being able to remove water from between his fingers. On a journey, the Prophet Muhammad and his companions ran out of water for ablution and for drinking. So the Prophet then put his hand into a small container and water came out of his finger.

This water is sufficient for the needs of him and his friends who number in the hundreds. This is an extraordinary incident that happened to Rasulullah SAW.

4. Healing the Sick

The next miracle of the prophet was being able to cure illness. This is an incident that happened to his cousin, Ali RA. One time Sayyidin Ali had an eye infection, and the Messenger of Allah spat in Ali’s eye and prayed, at once Ali’s eye was healed and it seemed as if there was no pain whatsoever.

5. Prayers Immediately Answered

Once, a dry season happened and the companions asked the Prophet to pray that it would rain soon. Then, within a few moments, the Messenger of Allah prayed and immediately afterwards a cloudy cloud appeared on the horizon which was a sign that it would rain soon.

One of the friends said, “When it came in the middle of the sky, it spread and then rained. By God! We could not see the sun for a week. “ After seven days of non-stop rain, then a friend asked the Prophet to pray for the rain to stop, because the rain had not stopped a week.

Then, Prophet Muhammad PBUH raised his hand and asked Allah to stop the rain immediately. And immediately the clouds split apart and avoided the place, this is a sign that the rain will end in that place soon.

6. Tree Trunk Crying

The next miracle of prophet Muhammad was a weeping date palm tree. Usually the prophet Muhammad SAW stood on a date palm to give a sermon on Friday. However, one of the friends suggested that a pulpit be built where the prophet delivered the sermon and the Prophet obeyed it.

When the prophet first used the pulpit, he heard the sound of palm stalks crying in a loud voice. Many friends hear the sound of date palm cries like the cry of a child. Then the Prophet came down from the pulpit and embraced the date palm and immediately he stopped crying. Then the prophet gave an explanation to the companions, he said: “it was crying for [missing] what it used to hear of religious knowledge given near it.” The ability to generate emotions in plants and animals includes inanimate objects such as dead date palm stalks. This is a miracle given by Allah to His Messenger.

7. Foretelling the Future

Apart from having the miracle of knowing things that are physical, he was also given miracles to be able to see the future state. For example: he said that someday the time would come when shepherds would compete to build buildings. It is now clear that there are now tall buildings built in the Arabian Gulf.

It should be noted that since a century ago the custom of Arabs in the Arabian Gulf was herding, they still lived a more primitive life than the other peoples, and now they are rich people who can build tall buildings. This change in wealth occurred when oil fields were discovered in the mid-20th century. Most of the proceeds from this wealth from oil were invested in building tall buildings.

In addition, there were many other miracles that the prophet Muhammad SAW had. This shows that he really has a close relationship with God, and this is proof that the prophet Muhammad was a Messenger of Allah.

8. Al-Quran

The Quran is a sacred gift that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, and this is the greatest miracle given by Allah. The life of the period during the era of jahiliyyah greatly exalted poetry and whoever was good at composing poetry was greatly admired. Because the Arabs of ignorance boasted of their literary abilities, Allah sent down a holy book that could not be copied and changed by anyone. This was passed down to his lover, the prophet Muhammad SAW.

Prophet Muhammad was an apostle who could not write and read, but Allah sent down the Koran, whose literature could not be matched by humans and jinn. In fact, in the Al-Quran Allah challenges humans and the jinn to make something similar to one verse of the Quran, and they are unable to even if they help each other. A prophet who cannot read and write, but the Koran which is his miracle is a book with unrivaled literary. This shows that the verses of the Koran are true from God, not the creation of the Prophet Muhammad SAW so that his followers believe in them.

Everlasting Miracle

The Quran is truly a miracle incomparable. Allah gives to the prophet Muhammad because at that time the Arabs were at the pinnacle of literary perfection. Unlike other countries that rely on high monuments, buildings and others. Yet the Arabs prided themselves on literary and linguistic perfection.

Prophet Muhammad, who was sent as an apostle at the age of 40, was a person who could not read and write and then brought verses of the Koran which contained very high literary value and was incomparable at that time even with well-known literary experts. Those who are literary experts are only able to remain silent and fascinated by the words and language of the Koran that was brought by the prophet Muhammad. The Arabs were fascinated by the fluency of the Koran that was perfect, the unique rhythmic style, it was not at all the same as poetry in general or prose, the value of the language was very high, even superior to any literary work known to the Arabs.

This admission did not only come from his friend, but from his great enemy, al-Waleed ibn al-Mugheerah, he reluctantly acknowledged the greatness of the Koran, he said: “By God! The words brought forth by this man are such as to be incomparable with any of the others. By God! His words possess a charming sweetness and a particular beauty … it is superior to all other discourses. “

Al-Quran is a holy book that will not be lost and no one can change it because it is immediately guarded by Allah until the end of time. Until now, the Koran keeps on appearing as a memorizer, even throughout the world more than 10 million people memorize it by rote. SubhanAllah!
