The last 2 ayat of Surah Baqarah are two short verses but reading them has tremendous benefits. So, we need to know what are the virtues and benefits of the last 2 verse of baqarah.
In fact, it is mentioned that whoever knows the benefits of both, he will not sleep before reciting the last two ayat of Surah al-Baqarah.
So, with this great benefit, we must make great efforts to be able to memorize it and always recite these two verses.
Likewise, so that we share this explanation with our loved ones, so that they also memorize it by heart. Regarding the virtues of these two ayat in Surah al-Baqarah, there is a hadith that is narrated, where Abdullah said:
“When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was taken on the Night Journey (Lailat al Miraj), he came to Sidrah Al-Muntaha, which is in the sixth heaven. That is where everything that comes up from below ends, and where everything that comes down from above, until it is taken from it. Allah says: When what covered the lote-tree did cover it! He said: “It was moths of gold. And I was given three things: The five daily prayers, the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and whoever of my Ummah dies without associating anything with Allah will be forgiven for Al-Muqhimat.” The sins of the worst magnitude that drag one into the Hell Fire. (An-Nihayah)
This is as stated in the Sunan an-Nasa’i hadith 451 and classified as Sahih by Darussalam.
Regarding the virtue of the last 2 ayat of Surah Baqarah, there is also another hadith where Abd al-Rahman b. Yazid said: I asked Abu Mas’ud when he was circling the Kaaba about some verses in the Quran, he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: If anyone recites the last 2 verses of surah baqarah at night, it will be enough for him.

Hadith – Quran Will Intercede on Day of Judgment
Abu Umamah al Bahiliy said, he heard Rasulullah (ﷺ) say:
“Recite the Qur’an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, al-Baqara and Surah Al ‘Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it.” (Mu’awiya said: It has been conveyed to me that here Bathala means magicians.) Reference: Sahih Muslim 804 a
From the above hadith, Rasulullah SAW told us to read the Koran because it will come as an intercessor on the Day of Judgment. Then, specifically the Prophet Muhammad. mentions reciting two surah, al-Baqarah and ‘ali Imran. Where the two letters are equated with two birds or two giant clouds that will help us. Reading surah al-Baqarah has great virtue and benefits, even making sorcerers helpless with the Surah.
Two clouds or birds, it’s just a symbol that shows that Allah’s reward is very great for anyone who reads Surah al-Baqarah and Ali Imran.
Then, Surah Baqarah has a great virtue so that it is always praised and this is mentioned in many hadiths about the ayah of Surah Baqarah. Even the ayat Kursi are included in the baqarah, where reciting the ayatul Kursi also has tremendous benefits. However, we must limit our discussion to the benefits and virtues of reciting the last 2 verses of al-Baqarah.

Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.”
The Virtues of Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 285-286
The priority is that Allah SWT will provide a sufficient life for His servants. Both for life in this world and in the hereafter.
One hadith narrated from Abu Mas’ud Al-Badri Radhiyallahu ‘anhu, Rasulullah SAW said:
مَنْ قَرَأَ بِالآيَتَيْنِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِى لَيْلَةٍ كَفَتَاهُ
Meaning: “Whoever recite the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (verses 285 and 286) at night, he will be given sufficient,” (Narrated by Bukhari No. 5009 and Muslim No. 808).
In addition, the last two ayat of Surah Baqarah also contain that a person’s faith will always be renewed if he always practices these two verses, because in the last two verses of baqarah implies an attitude of surrender to the Allah SWT.
Another benefit of reciting the last two verses of Surah Baqarah is as a form of servant request to Allah to give the protection from being tortured for forgetting or making mistakes.
In a hadith, it is stated that:
“Indeed, Allah forgives my Ummah when she is wrong, forgets or is forced,” (HR. Ibn Majah No. 2045).
There are a number of other virtues and benefits of reciting the last two verses of surah baqarah. One of them is a house that is not entered by the devil. People who always read surah baqarah, then the devil will not enter the house.

From Abu Hurairah RA, Rasulullah SAW said:
“Don’t make your house a graveyard (without reciting the Qur’an) because the devil will run away from the house where Surah Al-Baqarah is read,” (HR Ahmad, Muslim, At-Tirmidhi, and An-Nasa’I).
In another version of the hadith, it is also mentioned:
“Everything has a hump. The hump of the Qur’an is Surah Al-Baqarah. Whoever recite this surah at night in his house, surely the devil (satan) will not enter it for three nights. Meanwhile, whoever reads this surah during the day, surely the devil will not enter it for three days,” (HR Ad-Darimi and Ibn Hibban).
